Terms of service
The terms governing use of Aftertype, purchases, delivery, support, and related services.
1. About Aftertype
Aftertype is operated by Richard Lemon, trading as Aftertype Studio, in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The Chamber of Commerce number, VAT identification number, business address, and effective date will be added here before checkout goes live.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@aftertype.studio.
2. Scope and acceptance
These terms apply to your use of the Aftertype website and to products, downloads, documentation, updates, and support supplied under the Aftertype name. Product-specific license terms and policies shown or linked at checkout form part of your agreement.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted the terms and policies presented at checkout and that the information you provide is accurate. If you purchase for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. Seller and payment processing
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the authorized reseller and merchant of record. The customer purchases through Lemon Squeezy, while the applicable product license is granted by Aftertype as the supplier and licensor.
Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment collection, applicable sales taxes, invoices, transaction confirmation, refunds, and chargebacks under the buyer terms presented at checkout. If there is a conflict concerning payment processing or the sales transaction, the mandatory terms of the merchant of record apply to that part of the transaction.
4. Product information and requirements
The product page describes the version, included files, supported Ghost version, functionality, license scope, support period, and any material compatibility requirements. You are responsible for reviewing those requirements before ordering.
Screenshots and demos are intended to represent the product accurately, but example publications may include demo content, images, fonts, integrations, or services that are not part of the download. What is included is stated on the product page and in the delivered package.
5. Prices, taxes, and orders
Prices and currencies are shown before you place an order. Applicable taxes and the final total are calculated and displayed by the merchant of record at checkout. Your order is complete when the payment is accepted and a transaction confirmation is issued.
We may correct an obvious pricing or product-description error before accepting an order. We may also refuse or cancel an order where required by law, the merchant-of-record terms, fraud prevention, sanctions rules, or platform policy. If a completed order is cancelled without delivery, the amount paid will be refunded through the merchant of record.
6. Delivery
Digital products are normally made available immediately after successful payment through the download link, receipt, or customer portal provided by the merchant of record. You are responsible for using a valid email address and retaining your order details and downloaded files.
If delivery fails or the download is unavailable, contact support@aftertype.studio. We will work with the merchant of record to restore access, provide a replacement, or arrange an appropriate remedy.
7. License and intellectual property
Purchasing a product gives you the usage rights described in its license; it does not transfer ownership of the product or its intellectual property. The Northline License governs installation, permitted modifications, client work, transfers, and prohibited redistribution.
The Aftertype website, product names, original designs, documentation, and theme files remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party materials remain subject to their respective licenses.
8. Updates and support
12 months of updates and support are included with a Northline license from the purchase date. The support page describes what support covers and what information may be needed to investigate a problem.
Support does not include custom development, publication management, hosting administration, or repairing changes made by the customer or a third party, unless expressly agreed separately. These limits do not restrict remedies or updates that must be provided under applicable consumer law.
9. Refunds, withdrawal, and conformity
The Refund Policy explains when a refund may be available. For digital content supplied immediately, a consumer may be asked at checkout to expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that the statutory right of withdrawal is lost once the download or other digital delivery begins.
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory rights relating to delivery, conformity, required updates, repair or replacement, price reduction, withdrawal, or reimbursement. If Northline is defective or materially different from its description, contact support so that we can investigate and provide the remedy required by applicable law.
10. Acceptable use of the website
You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malware, scrape restricted content in violation of published machine-readable instructions, impersonate another person, or use the website or products for unlawful activity.
Reasonable browsing, search indexing that respects our published crawler instructions, linking to public pages, and evaluation of product information before purchase are permitted.
11. Availability and third-party services
We aim to keep the website, downloads, documentation, and support channels available, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. Planned maintenance, security work, provider outages, or events outside our reasonable control may occasionally affect access.
Aftertype products operate with third-party services such as Ghost and may be delivered or paid for through third-party platforms. Those services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for a third party discontinuing or materially changing its service, but this does not affect any remedy you have when the product itself fails to conform to the agreement.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer rights or liability arising from intent or deliberate recklessness.
For customers acting in the course of a business, and to the extent permitted by law, Aftertype is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or business interruption. Aggregate liability relating to one product is limited to the amount paid for that product. This limitation does not apply where the loss was caused intentionally or by deliberate recklessness, or where applicable law does not allow the limitation.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future use of the website or future purchases, for example when products, providers, or legal requirements change. A change will not retroactively reduce the license rights attached to a completed one-time purchase. The version presented at checkout applies to that purchase unless a mandatory legal change requires otherwise.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law of your country of residence. Please contact support@aftertype.studio first so that we can try to resolve a complaint directly.
If a dispute cannot be resolved, it may be submitted to the competent Dutch court, unless mandatory consumer law gives the consumer the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
