A studio with a single focus.
Hand-built Ghost themes for editorial publishers.

Who I am
I'm Richard Lemon, a frontend developer and the founder of Aftertype, based in Maastricht, Netherlands. I have over 15 years of experience building for the web, including about 8 years in Bay Area startups early in my career. Today I build Ghost themes for Aftertype and client web experiences through Ideebv, with a focus on CSS, animation, interaction design, and Ghost CMS customization.
I care deeply about CSS, motion, and the craft details that make a product feel considered. I build with AI as a core part of my workflow: Cursor, Claude, and a growing stack of tools that have genuinely changed how I work.
My work sits at the intersection of engineering and design. I write about what I'm working on in the journal.
